Šatrininkai – a village in the Vilnius District Municipality, located at the center of the eldership territory along the regional road No. 101 Vilnius–Šumskas, also known as the "Black Road" or "Black Route." The village has been mentioned in historical documents since 1798.
Symbols used in the coat of arms design:
Black column – symbolizes the historical significance of the "Black Road" or "Black Route" during the Grand Duchy of Lithuania period. The current Šumskas road (No. 101) passing through Shatrininkai is located along the historic "Black Road."
Burning twigs (branches) – the name Shatrininkai possibly derives from the word šatras (twigs, thin cut branches, rods, or sticks). In the local dialect, the word žagarai (Polish: żagary) refers to dry twigs, which were used to start fires.
Black color – symbolizes and reminds of the historical importance of the "Black Road" or "Black Route" during the Grand Duchy of Lithuania period. Silver represents water, purity, virtue, and loyalty.
The coat of arms design was created by the artist Rolandas Rimkūnas.
