Citizenship School for Foreign-Born Youth from Vilnius District Municipality

Vilnius District Municipality together with Global Citizens’ Academy invites foreign-born young people (aged 16–29) residing in Vilnius District Municipality to apply for the Citizenship School.

The Citizenship School will bring together 40 participants for an engaging learning journey where you will:

  •  Explore key aspects of civic engagement and political participation in Lithuania and Europe;
  •  Discuss major local and global challenges related to migration, climate crisis, geopolitics and other outstanding issues;
  •  Learn more about social, civic, and political rights in Lithuania and Europe, as well as related challenges;
  •  Discover ways to become more actively involved in Lithuanian social and civic life.

Practical information:

  •  Who: Foreign-born residents of Vilnius District Municipality aged 16–29.
  •  When: 24–26 October (starting in the afternoon of 24 October and concluding before noon on 26 October), followed by additional shorter seminars and meetings in the months of November and December (dates will be agreed with the confirmed participants).
  •  Where: Vilnius district (the venue will be confirmed).
  •  Costs: Participation is FREE OF CHARGE. Accommodation, meals, and coffee/tea breaks are fully covered by the organisers.
  •  Working language: English.

Application process:

Please complete the application form by 10 October. Applicants will be informed about the selection results by 15 October.

The Citizenship School is part of the international project “Citizenship Academy: Building Inclusive and Diverse European Societies through the Civic Participation of Young Migrants”, funded by the EU Erasmus+ programme. In Lithuania, the school is co-organised by Global Citizens’ Academy and Vilnius District Municipality.
