General education

decoration

If you have completed a foreign country's primary, lower secondary or part of lower secondary education programme, you will be admitted to the general admission procedure. A child returning from abroad is integrated into the general education classes of Vilnius District schools according to his/her age and learns together with his/her classmates. If necessary, he or she is supported with an integration plan, an individual education plan, additional counselling or lessons.

Schooling is compulsory for children from the age of 7 (in the calendar year in which the child turns 7) to 16. A child may be admitted to primary education one year earlier if the child's parents/guardians have decided to enrol the child in pre-primary education earlier (when the child reaches the age of 5 in that calendar year).

The application must specify:

  • the name and surname, year of birth, personal identification number, actual and declared place of residence, phone number, email address of the person applying for the course;
  • the name of the school at which the applicant wishes to study;
  • the date of admission to the school;
  • grade of education;
  • language of instruction;
  • preferred subject of moral education (ethics, religion);
  • documents supporting the priority criteria;
  • parents names, place of residence, mobile phone number and e-mail address;
  • if the applicant is a minor, he/she must also provide parental contact details;
  • consent to obtaining data on the applicant from other institutions;
  • consent to the use of the data provided for the purpose of admission to the school;
  • a confirmation that the data provided are correct and that the person has been duly informed about the processing of personal data.
